MHPM Helps Lead Groundbreaking Canada Post Project to Success

Plant first of its kind for sustainable design and operations

MHPM Project Managers (MHPM) played an integral role in the successful delivery of Canada Post’s state-of-the-art mail processing plant in Winnipeg.

“MHPM is proud to have contributed to the delivery of this innovative project as project managers,” said Franklin Holtforster, president and chief executive officer, MHPM. “Canada Post is a forward-thinking corporation on the path of revitalizing our nation’s mail processing system. We look forward to being a valuable partner on this journey.”

Built at a cost of more than $100 million, the facility is the crown corporation’s first new mail processing plant in more than 20 years. It houses a 250,000 square foot mail sorting plant, features 41 dock loading bays and has 25,000 square feet of office space.

It is Canada Post’s first processing plant to be registered a Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building, a prestigious environmental recognition led by MHPM.

“The new plant will not only revolutionize mail processing, but also the incorporation of sustainable design and operations for future plants to come,” said Bregie Kozak, Project Manager, MHPM.

Managing budget, schedule, construction, risk, sustainability and quality assurance, MHPM ensured that the multi-pronged project was delivered on-time and within Canada Post’s budget.
