The City of Medicine Hat has awarded a contract to MHPM Project Management Inc. for Project Management Services related to the proposed Regional Event Centre. MHPM has been engaged to act as the City’s representative across three phases of work: Phase I – Project Feasibility and Approach; Phase II – Request for Proposals; and Phase III – Construction Supervision.
In Phase I, MHPM will conduct an in-depth review of the Phase 4 Feasibility Study / Functional Design that was completed in October 2009 to look at how costs could be reduced while still achieving the construction and long-term operation of an event centre that is capable of serving the sporting, recreational, entertainment and commercial objectives of Medicine Hat and area.
A Phase I Report is expected to be presented to City Council in approximately three months. Proceeding to Phases II and III is contingent upon City Council approval to proceed with the construction of a Regional Event Centre.
