Posted date: 22 novembre 2011

The Wakefield Mill commemorate its 10th year of operation by expanding it's facilities to become the first LEED Registered hotel built in the National Capital Region.

Named the "Eco River Lodge", the new building features a passive solar design with a nearly all-glass south facing two-story facade.  The ultra-insulated building will be heated and cooled with a 1/2 mile of underground geothermal piping, and topped off with an organic green roof over the conference facilities.

MHPM acted as the project leaders for this $3 million expansion project which includes 13 superb new guest rooms, new conference facilities, a second new restaurant  an outdoor swimming pool and a small group spa area.
