Risk Analysis Review
Risks exist regardless of how a project is delivered (design-bid-build, design-build or construction management) and how experienced the participants are. For those who have never managed a construction project before, risks abound. First-time builders frequently fail to see how small changes progressively affect their costs and schedule.
Risk analysis helps create the mindset for all project participants to think ahead. It minimizes project surprises and allows risks to be monitored and managed effectively. Failure to do a risk analysis increases the probability of unpleasant surprises. Inevitably, the project team is forced into crisis management. Small project problems will have greater than necessary impact on schedule, cost and quality.
